New Features for DirecTv HD DVRs

DirecTv is going to be releasing a software update for all HD DVRs soon adding a couple of programs to the side bar for those who have their HD DVR hooked up to the Internet.

The first program actually won't require the Internet. It is an energy saving method. What this will do is shut your DirecTv HD DVR off after 4 hours of the remote not being used.

The second program is Pandora Internet Radio. You'll be able to stream internet music through this app on your TV. All you have to do is sign up for a free account on Pandora and start creating custom music channels. No word on if this will be replacing the Sonic Music Channels in the future, but for now it does not seem likely since not all customers have Internet in their homes.

Here are some of the newest releases on DirecTv Cinema. These movies can be found on channels 126 to 194. If you have the DirecTv Cinema Connection Kit hooked to an HD DVR go to channel 1000 to view these movies instantly without having to wait for them to come on!
